This “Our Common Purpose” report is pure progressive power grab unashamedly wrapped in red, white, and blue. Seventy-four pages of elite liberal wish-casting, it lays out a plan to dismantle the constitutional republic our Founders built and replace it with a Euro-style social democracy run by unelected bureaucrats, Big Tech commissars, Czars, and NGO funded self-styled “civic experts.”
Let’s expose what’s really going on:
1. “Democracy” = Mob Rule
The report avoids saying “constitutional republic.” Page 2 equates “democracy” and “constitutional democracy” with a republic, which is false. Pure democracy, 51 percent taking from 49 percent, is exactly what our Founders rejected. That is why we have the Electoral College, the Senate, and the Bill of Rights. Every socialist from Lenin to Obama started with the promise of “more democracy” before seizing power; this report is the 2020s version of the same playbook.
2. Six strategies = six steps to socialism
Strategy 1: “Equality of voice”
Expand the House to 700+ members to pack it with urban socialists.
Ranked-choice voting guarantees moderate RINOs and third-party spoilers, eroding conservative majorities.
Repeal single-member districts for proportional representation, welcome to Italy or Israel-style chaos.
Amend the First Amendment to allow government regulation of campaign contributions and spending, Citizens United on steroids, targeting conservative donors and voices.
Restructure the Supreme Court with 18-year staggered terms and congressional oversight; justices would transition to appeals courts or senior status after 18 years. This is a radical departure from constitutional design and a slow-motion court-packing scheme.
Strategy 2: “Empower voters”
Mandatory voting with fines, literal Soviet-style compulsion; Australia’s $20 fine is just the start.
Automatic voter registration, same-day registration, and no-ID voting invite harvesting and fraud on a scale that dwarfs 2020.
Rank Choice Voting is promoted as a way to “reduce polarization” and give voters more choices, citing examples like Maine (which adopted it for federal elections) and its potential to prevent “spoiler” candidates. They argue it would make elections more representative and encourage candidates to appeal beyond their base.

From a conservative perspective, this is one of the report’s most insidious proposals: RCV complicates ballots, confuses voters (especially elderly and low-information ones), exhausts ballots in conservative areas, and empirically benefits moderates/leftists while disadvantaging strong conservatives. It’s a backdoor to dilute GOP majorities and entrench RINO-friendly homgeonus politicians.
Strategy 3: “Responsiveness”
Citizens’ assemblies, unelected, randomly selected panels with veto power over Congress; Bolshevik councils, rebranded.
Strategy 4: National Trust for Civic Infrastructure
A permanent federal slush fund to pay leftist NGOs under the guise of “bridging divides”; expect systematic censorship of conservative voices.
Funding extends to schools and communities to push federal-approved civic education and youth programs; conservatives would see this as ideological indoctrination funded by taxpayers and private progressive foundations.
Strategy 5: Tax digital ads and mandate platforms
Confiscate private property to prop up failing leftist outlets like NPR, PBS, and ProPublica.
Mandate platforms to create “public-friendly spaces”; government intrusion into social media and free speech is the result.
Require interoperability, data portability, and access to government-provided digital civic tools; conservatives would see this as expanded government control over technology and information flow.
Strategy 6: National service
They call it “voluntary,” but page 57 describes a “universal expectation” funded through government-controlled baby bonds; this is the first step toward mandatory youth indoctrination programs.
Civic service programs emphasize progressive-approved concepts of civic virtue; conservatives would view this as ideological shaping of the next generation.
3. Destroy federalism and states’ rights
The report complains that 26 smallest states hold 52 Senate seats despite representing only 18 percent of the population; translation: abolish equal state representation so California and New York dominate the country.
Any amendment to change this would require a constitutional process they know they cannot achieve legitimately.
Expanding immigrant engagement and influencing voting patterns is highlighted; conservatives would see this as expanding a progressive voting bloc at the expense of long-standing citizens.
4. Undermining individual rights
Altering campaign finance, regulating speech, and mandating voting are all attacks on liberty; property rights, free expression, and voluntary civic participation are under threat.
Large-scale citizen data collection for “democracy initiatives” is encouraged; conservatives would view this as a government intrusion into private life and a step toward technocratic control.
5. Who’s behind it
Co-chairs: Danielle Allen (Harvard), Stephen Heintz (Rockefeller Brothers Fund), Eric Liu (Obama speechwriter) a laundry list of liberals.
Funded by Rockefeller money and the S.D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation.
Packed with ACLU types, open-borders advocates, Big Tech apologists, NPR liberals and other radical progressives; essentially, a coalition of elite liberals attempting to reshape American governance according to their worldview.

Bottom line:
This is not bipartisan in any manner; it is a blueprint to finish what Obama started, a borderless, gunless, Godless socialist state where “equity” replaces liberty, “diversity” replaces merit, babies lives are at risk daily, and your vote only counts if you toe the progressive line.
The report explicitly sets 2026, our nation’s 250th anniversary, as a target for achieving its vision; this is a timeline for systematically reshaping constitutional structures and civic life without voter consent.
Burn the report, mock the report, meme it into oblivion, never let them call our constitutional republic a “democracy.”
America is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, and the only reinvention we need is returning to the Constitution of 1787, no amendments, no compromises, no apologies.
