Opinion: The Alaska Legislature is overstepping in its dispute with the governor over his proposed agriculture department

This summer, during the Alaska Legislature’s special session, the governor reissued Executive Order 137 to create a standalone Department of Agriculture, a step vital to strengthening Alaska’s food security. He acted under clear constitutional authority to reorganize the executive branch for efficiency. That authority is not in dispute.
